This Seiko Prospex diver’s watch has been created in collaboration with PADI – the Professional Association of Diving instructors, the world’s most recognised diver’s training organisation. It commemorates 60 years of Seiko watchmaking heritage in Diver’s watches.
Continuing the Seiko heritage of watchmaking innovation and design evolution, this Prospex diver’s watch is evolved from a combination of two popular Seiko designs. Nicknamed by fans for their unique case shapes, the ‘Samurai’ and ‘Shōgun’ are popular Seiko models which are angular in shape and instantly recognisable. This latest Compact diver’s watch takes elements from both heritage designs, as well as adding modernised features. Aesthetically, the green dial depicts the surface of the ocean seen by a diver underwater, with the sunlight pouring through. It takes the steep angled lugs of the Shōgun and echoes the crown design of the Samurai model with the straight contours of both blueprints.
